We invite you to spend some quality time in Transylvania, in the Apuseni Mountain Nature Park (South-Western Carpathians) at 1100 m altitude. The place is surrounded by endless fir tree forests where you can hike, watch different birds and animals, pick mushrooms, blueberries or wild strawberries. We provide an apartment and a separate entrance bedroom for our tourists.

Podina is the name of this place. It means “wooden flooring”. In this hamlet there are living at the moment only seven families, most of them settled in 1960’s. The former name of the village was “Dealul Calului” which means “The Horse’s Hill”. The actual name comes from a hero called Horea who was the leader of an uprising against Austro-Hungarian rulers in 1784. Poiana means glade, a flat land surrounded by forests or mountains.
