Harmonia Mundi

A place between heaven and earth, where the beauty of the nature resonates with the creative skill of man; where the small details count, and where each room, space and place has its own soul.

Everything was done within a year. How it was possible? Well, through couple of meetings, but not incidentally ones. At the foot of this ‚castle’ architects and builders, artists and artisans collaborated in such a way that the present result to delight the body and soul of each of us. The communication between different ethnicity (Romanians, Hungarians, American) was not an issue but a permanent spring for creativity and a milestone of humanity.

The owners, Ágnes and Cristian Găzdac, are a family in love with culture and art.

The idea was to create a cultural B&B where people can meet and ‘taste’ the beauty of this region of Transylvania …”.

The advisor for Harmonia Mundi, Bruce Wright, an extraordinary person, the vice-president of Apollo Colors Inc. (Chicago), has returned to Romania since 1995 and now considers this his second home.

“I love B&B’s. While traveling, our family stays at one whenever possible! We get the best local advice, recommendations on restaurants, activities, assistance with reservations and meet great people. When the opportunity arose to help start a B & B in Romania with our friends, I was ecstatic and all in.

Spend time outside the big cities, check out the wonderful scenery, meet the locals and try the fantastic rural cuisine. Your host Agnes, won’t be your host for long, in short order she will become part of your family!

Enjoy!”

Everything in life starts with a meeting...The first one happened 21 years ago when Bruce Wright, a fan of ancient times, met Cristian Găzdac, a student of archaeology, at Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa. Over time, a life friendship tied up, and later, Bruce was the best man at Cristian’s wedding with cu Ágnes. Their common dream on creating a unique place for relaxation together with the total trust on each other made possible the starting of a European project that ended up with ‚Harmonia Mundi’.

Another important meeting was with Tünde Vitz, a textile artist, who became a good friend with Agnes, due to the friendship of their children. The invitation to take part in this project was for Tünde the occasion to prove her designer skill. Gradually, the B&B developed into a ‚soul investment’ for both. Their friendship and shared enthusiasm made possible to spend a lot of time and an unlimited energy working on this project.
