If you feel hungry but you would like to eat at home we have a pull out table in the open space kitchen so you can cook up a nice meal and enjoy.
Hello and welcome to Bucharest! We are looking forward to you staying in our bright studio with a lot of plants located in a historical architectural landmark. It has been build by Romanian-Israeli architect Marcel Iancu who was also inventor of the DaDa movement, a painter and a visual artist; he designed some of the most innovative landmarks of downtown Bucharest. During the 1920s and 1930s Iancu’s buildings encompass his conception of art ranging from surrealism, as he was one of the forerunners of that current, Soviet inspired constructivism, functionalism to cubism, Bauhaus or expressionism. The Frida Cohen Tower, an apartment block, the largest building designed by Iancu, exhibits many of those traits. Unfortunately, despite its history, it is in need of cosmetic repairs as from the outside it is pretty ugly at the moment. The location is really perfect for anyone wanting to visit the city: you will be walking distance to most attractions and if you need to get to the airport or other parts of the city we are really near underground/metro station of Unirii and Universitate that is a hub for buses and the airport shuttle.
Our flat is located in probably the most interesting neighborhood of the city: the old Jewish district. The most fascinating buildings and villas are located here. There are still some synagogues and Jewish theaters that resisted the II world war and the architectural massacres of Ceausescu`s communism. Although we are at the very center of the city (few hundred meters from KM 0) there are lot of very lively and interesting local bars, restaurants and venues are hidden in the side-streets still undiscovered by tourists. You can just get lost in the area and find some of them but keep the secret to your self. The old town (Lipscani) with its hundreds of bars, clubs, restaurants is a few minutes walk from the flat. You will be between Unirii and Universitate squares where you have metro, bus and airport shuttle bus access. Bucharest is a very safe city: just be careful at taxi scams and of course, as in any other city in the planet, mind your bag and wallet.
