Poiana Tapului is a neighborhood of Buşteni town in Prahova county, Muntenia, Romania. It is located in the Prahova valley, south of the main town. Poiana Țapului was formed around 1830 in the continuation of the village (at that time) Buşteni, and it was part of it, and Predeal, from the commune of Sinaia. On May 7, 1885, Sinaia became a common commune, and Poiana Tapului passed to the city of Predeal. Buşteni city, consisting of Buşteni and Poiana Ţapului, was founded on 1 July 1908, due to the economic and demographic growth of the settlements in the area. In the interwar period, Poiana Tapului was a separate commune, having the village of Poiana Tapului and the villages of Jepii Mari, Jepii Mici, Cumpătu, Piatra Arsă, Valea Babei and Zamora, with 634 inhabitants, in the Peleş net in Prahova county. In 1950, the commune was abolished and passed to Buşteni. Now Poiana Tapului is having arround 2.500 citizens.
